Marketing Engineering Intern

Rundoo

ABOUT RUNDOO ℹ️ Our mission is to empower independent supply stores with best-in-class technology. Think of your local hardware store or mom-and-pop nursery—these are our clients. From paint to lumber to flooring, over 200,000 such stores across the country sell over $1T of building materials annually using outdated, on-premises systems. We’re aiming to help them modernize so that they can continue to thrive. Backed by leading investors including Battery, Bessemer and CRV, we've raised $48M across four rounds and are growing quickly: We're live in over 500 stores across the USA, Canada, and the Caribbean, and integrated with over 20 industry partners. Our team is made up of builders, sellers, and industry veterans with a shared goal: to bring modern technology to an overlooked industry. WHY CO-OPS ARE CORE TO HOW WE BUILD OUR TEAM 🎓 At Rundoo, hiring co-op students who come back full-time after graduation is core to how we build our team. Students who pair rigorous academics with hands-on co-op experience become builders who have immediate impact and grow quickly. That holds just as true for Marketing Engineering as it does for core Engineering. We're looking for our first Marketing Engineering intern to help prove out this pipeline. If it's a fit, we're committed to hiring more each term and building the function around you. TERM 📅 Winter 2027: January 4 – April 23. We're prioritizing Winter, but if you're looking for a Summer term, we'd still love to hear from you. WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE WITH US: SHIP MARKETING AGENTS AND AUTOMATIONS 💼 This isn't about busywork or one-off decks. You'll build the internal tools, agents and automations that power how Rundoo markets itself, and you'll see your work go live every day! This role focuses on internal marketing tooling, not customer-facing product work. - Agent & Workflow Development: Help build and maintain automations and agents that generate marketing content (ads, emails, social posts) at scale. - Data Pipelines & Integrations: Connect the tools in our marketing stack (ads, email, direct mail and more) so data moves between systems accurately and efficiently. - Campaign Instrumentation: Help instrument and monitor live campaigns so every program, and every dollar of ad spend, can be traced back to pipeline and ARR impact. - Attribution & Reporting: Help map marketing-sourced and marketing-influenced leads through the funnel: MQL → SQL → Opp → Closed Won. - Content Systems: Prototype reusable templates and agents for recurring content types (magazine ads, digital postcards, newsletter banners, social posts, flyers) that support our vertical GTM motions. - Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with our Head of Marketing, CEO and vertical PMs to keep automations grounded in real campaign needs. HARD REQUIREMENTS ☑️ - You're comfortable writing code and can show us a GitHub with example work. - You're genuinely excited about applying AI and agents to marketing problems, not just interested in marketing as a discipline. - You're a self-directed builder who can turn a rough campaign idea into a working automation. - You give in-the-moment feedback to your teammates and enjoy receiving the same. NICE TO HAVE ⭐ - Experience building data pipelines or integrations that connect tools and move data between systems. - Experience building workflows with an LLM in the mix, like RAG or scripts that call the Claude or OpenAI APIs. - Experience deploying simple apps or services (Vercel, Cloudflare Workers, Coder.dev http://Coder.dev or similar). - Familiarity with marketing and growth concepts (MQLs, attribution, funnel metrics, ad automation). - Comfort working with coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, etc.) to build end-to-end workflows. INTERVIEW PROCESS 🎤 - Application: must include a GitHub account with example work. - Intro Call (20 min, remote): Meet Amanda to learn more about each other and talk through your interest in marketing + AI agents. - Live-coding session + chat with Titus (45 min): Titus will walk you through titus.doo.run http://titus.doo.run and our GitHub marketing repos, then dive into one of the agent use cases he relies on most. Together you'll dig into how it works and where you'd improve what he's built. - Final Call (15 min, remote): Conversation with our CEO, Nick. MEET THE TEAM 👥 - Nick (CEO): studied math & computer science at Stanford; worked as a trader at Bridgewater & Citadel and as a PM at Google & Enigma; distantly related to the founder of the Hershey company 🍫 - Titus (Head of Marketing): Over a 15+ year career, I've been the first GTM/Marketing hire at five startups, embedding with founding teams to find product-market fit before the company spends money scaling. I build Marketing & GTM functions from scratch, ship code, close deals, and design the systems that turn early traction into repeatable revenue. Love to 🏂 and 🏍️. Claude 🤖 certified. - Your peer GTM/vertical PMs COMPENSATION 💵 - Base Salary: $98k base; $111k OTE BENEFITS 🏋️ - Our office is in Redwood City, CA, an 8-minute walk from Caltrain. - Dog-friendly office!
