As a Supplier Quality Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to support the NGDV (Next Generation Delivery Vehicle) Supplier Quality Engineering team, working directly with high-impact suppliers to ensure flawless execution of our supply base. *This position has a Spring/Summer 2027 start date. YOUR IMPACT: These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned. Provide onsite quality assurance support at supplier manufacturing locations, participating in APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), problem-solving, containment actions, and 8D resolution of supplier-related quality issues. Support APQP/PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and capacity verification follow-up with select suppliers in collaboration with a lead SQE engineer. Visit supplier manufacturing sites to assess their operations, technical capabilities, quality systems, and manufacturing process controls. Conduct go-and-see visits to validate corrective actions and assess effectiveness of improvements on-site. Shadow and work closely with experienced Supplier Quality Engineers during introductory sessions and problem-solving activities with suppliers. Support functional validation trials of supplier parts at Spartanburg Assembly Plant. Evaluate supplier manufacturing processes and quality operating systems, with primary focus on body commodities and sheet metal forming processes. Participate in supplier quality planning, manufacturing process control reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. Review and validate supplier corrective actions and participate in effectiveness verification. Utilize statistical analysis tools to support quality assessments and process capability evaluations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Student working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Graduation date of December 2027 or later. Willing to travel 50-60% to supplier manufacturing locations (primarily Midwest) and Spartanburg, SC Assembly Plant. STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS: GPA of 3.0 or greater. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while working independently and efficiently. Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Manufacturing experience or working in/supporting/ (or familiarity) with manufacturing or assembly processes. Pay Range: $18.00 - $37.00 The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
